I have been in the CEO role for a month and want to thank everyone for your support as I transition into the company. 

 

The welcoming, open attitude of each person I have met is truly amazing to me. I am excited to be part of the Idaho team.

 

Over the past month, during my meetings with employees and agents,
I have continued to emphasize the three business objectives (see below)
I presented on my first day with the company. Your reception to this near-term focus has been tremendous, both positive and supportive, as we begin the process of correcting problems, implementing change, and moving the company forward in a new way.

 

NEAR-TERM FOCUS BUSINESS OBJECTIVES

• Profit With Premium Stability

• Make It Easy To Do Business With The Company

• Ensure Alignment Of Field And Home Office

 

Here are a few observations from my meetings with employees and agents:

 

1. People
   This organization is made up of outstanding people. As I meet with team members, I am impressed with the professionalism, technical skill and openness of each person. Your commitment to and passion for the organization is evident. As you have heard me say, it is the people in this company who make the difference. We have difference makers and I have no doubt that the communication, teamwork and accountability of the entire team will ensure future success for the company.
    

2. Technology
   The Guidewire software and technologies are sound. Without question, there are issues needing correction that are disrupting customer service and the productivity of team members. The implementations of the billing and policy centers have been disruptive. However, the entire company is committed to stabilizing our new software. I expect that many of these issues will be behind us in the next six to eight months, and the company will begin to leverage its investment in this solution.
    

3. Process
   The company has a lot of manual processes. We have the opportunity with our people and technology to reshape many company functions to make them better. Remember that quote from Dr. Rick Rigsby that I have been referencing: “Good isn’t good enough if it can be better. And better is not good enough if it can be best.” Let’s be the best. Always strive for excellence.
    

4. Idaho
   This state’s geographic diversity and beauty is remarkable. I am thankful to be here.
    

5. Packers
   Superbowl? I’m thinking they have a chance!
