Farm Bureau agents and employees have taken to heart our vision of being "an active corporate citizen." Their willingness to help those in our communities who need assistance has allowed Farm Bureau Insurance to make two charitable donations totaling $17,500 in less than a month.
The first donation, a $7,500 check, was presented to Make-A-Wish Idaho on September 10. These funds were raised at this year's Summer Charitable Golf Tournament in Jackpot, Nevada.
The second donation, a $10,000 check, was presented to The Idaho Foodbank on October 1. These funds were raised at last month's Fall Sales Rally in Boise.
We're passionate about doing our part to address issues facing our communities, and we're proud of our agents and employees who help us live this vision.
Farm Bureau Insurance Donates $7,500 To Make-A-Wish Idaho
When the last divot was replaced and the final numbers tallied, Farm Bureau Mutual Insurance Company of Idaho raised $7,500 during its 10th annual Make-A-Wish® Summer Charitable Golf Tournament. Farm Bureau Insurance’s Executive Vice President and CEO, Todd Argall, presented the donation during a ceremony at its Pocatello headquarters on Friday, September 10, to Make-A-Wish’s Regional Director, Julie Thomas.
“We are proud to sponsor this event,” Argall said, “and proud to help Make-A-Wish Idaho grant life-changing wishes to children with life-threatening medical conditions. We look forward to the next ten years of Farm Bureau Insurance’s Make-A-Wish Summer Charitable Golf Tournament.”
“We’re grateful to Farm Bureau Insurance for helping us bring some hope back into a child’s life through the power of a wish,” said Thomas. “Donations like this allow Make-A-Wish Idaho to give children with critical illnesses a piece of their childhood back.”
120 golfers making up 30 teams participated in the tournament held at Nevada’s Jackpot Golf Club on Saturday, July 31. Donations were raised through the sale of raffle tickets and mulligans.
Since 2009, according to Bridget Dahmer, Human Resources Manager at Farm Bureau Insurance, the Summer Charitable Golf Tournament has raised over $32,000 for Make-A-Wish Idaho.
“Plans are already underway,” Dahmer added, “for next year’s tournament.”
Farm Bureau Insurance Donates $10,000 To The Idaho Foodbank
Farm Bureau Mutual Insurance Company of Idaho has made a $10,000 donation to The Idaho Foodbank. Farm Bureau Insurance’s Executive Vice President and CEO, Todd Argall, and Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Chuck McDaniel, presented the donation during a ceremony at its Pocatello headquarters on Friday, October 1, to The Idaho Foodbank’s Eastern Idaho Branch Manager, Kia Shaw.
Since The Foodbank can provide four meals for every $1 donation, this donation will help provide food for 40,000 meals to Idahoans living with food insecurity.
The donations were raised at Farm Bureau Insurance’s recent Fall Sales Rally event in Boise. Agents from across the state along with the company’s district managers and executive team donated $7,000. Contributions from event sponsors Aflac and Blue Cross of Idaho brought the total to the $10,000 mark.
“We really appreciate supporters like Idaho Farm Bureau Insurance,” said Karen Vauk, President and CEO of The Idaho Foodbank. “This donation will make a significant impact in addressing food insecurity across Idaho and demonstrates the generosity and giving spirit of Idahoans.”
“It’s important for Farm Bureau Insurance to support our local communities.” Argall said. “Many people in our communities are struggling right now, and we want to step in and do our part. Supporting the good works of The Idaho Foodbank will go a long way toward helping our communities get back on their feet.”
