Doyle Rogers Retires
"Whenever I get into a discussion about the best hires, I boast about hiring Doyle."
-Rich Burgoyne, Director of Claims (Retired)
January 31, 2022

Doyle Rogers, Material Damage FCR, will retire on February 4 after 15 years of dedicated service.
By Doyle Rogers
I started working for Farm Bureau Insurance in February of 2007. I worked out of the Gooding office two days a week and three days a week out of the Twin Falls office on Kimberly Road.
It wasn’t too long before they closed the Gooding office and moved us to the new Jerome building. I then split time between Jerome and Twin Falls.
I was trained to be an adjuster by Jaime Allen and Lorene Tolman. What a wealth of knowledge and experience they shared with me.
I was then moved to the Buhl office and Jerome office. When COVID hit, I was sent to my back-bedroom office which significantly reduced my commute time to work in the mornings.
Each office holds special memories of people that I got to share time with and become special friends with.
I was born in Gooding, Idaho, and was raised working in a paint and body shop with my four brothers and father. I graduated from Gooding High School and went to Ricks College in Rexburg, Idaho, for a year.
I spent the next two years in Alberta and Saskatchewan, Canada, on a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
When I returned, I married my college sweetheart, Valarie. We celebrated our 45th wedding anniversary in August.
I started working again at the paint and body shop with one brother and dad. We incorporated and added a towing service. While working there, Valarie and I raised six sons and one inherited young man. They have all married and bring our family to 14 parents and 26 grandchildren. All are very active in sports and school activities. We go to watch and participate with them all over the state.
After working 30 years at Rogers Paint and Body and Towing business, 20 years as a high school basketball/football referee, and 20 years as a volunteer fireman, I was enticed to look into a Farm Bureau Insurance adjuster opportunity by Lorene Tolman. Lorene and I had become acquainted through her adjusting claims for my shop. Rich Burgoyne came to my shop and interviewed me for a new adjuster position opening up in the Magic Valley. It seemed to be just right as I was able to still live in Gooding and use my life experiences for this new opportunity.
Fifteen years later, I look back at all the special people I have been able to work with and the experiences I have had with them. Special comradeships grew as we did things together both in work and in play.
Thanks to so many that have help me along the way from agents, managers, fellow adjusters, CSR’s, special Home Office staff, and even claimants.
Perhaps the most memorable events are the training trips, especially the Las Vegas roof training where I had to be a bodyguard to Teresa Durrant as she gambled her free time away. Then the bodyguard trip to the sketchy part of Twin Falls for one of her investigations. Also the claim with the truck hanging by a safety chain over the Malad Gorge that made national news.
Also special thanks to Kurt Knapp, Annie Deuell, and Angie Musser for coming to my rescue when I was a newbie and had 80+ wind claims in one night in Buhl. I'll also never forget going to help others in Boise with snow claims, the Pocatello wildfire claims, Idaho Falls hail claims, and the week in Coeur d’Alene helping a fellow adjuster who got hurt. This really made me feel like a family member of the Farm Bureau family.
You could be anywhere in the state and when you saw a fellow Farm Bureau person, you saw a friend.
Now on to greater and better things as I have a bucket list of golf courses to play while traveling to see my family in their events and activities along with lots of honey do’s at home.
Thanks Farm Bureau!
Please join us in thanking Doyle for his dedicated service and congratulating him on his well-deserved retirement. An open house for Doyle will be held on Thursday, February 3, from 2:00 to 3:30 PM at the main Twin Falls office on Kimberly Road.
COMMENTS FROM DOYLE'S COWORKERS
Doyle, good luck on your retirement. I can’t wait until the day I can say, “It’s not my problem anymore.” Thanks for being you and all that you do! Can’t wait for the weather to warm up so we can go golfing a couple times.
-Michael Boldt, Claims Representative, Burley
Congratulations Doyle!
It was a pleasure 100% of the time working with you.
Doyle was a great problem solver. Always ready to step in and take real care of customers when we needed it most. Unquestionably honest and reliable. Always level-headed and calm when things were crazy. Of course, what would we expect from someone who was a high school basketball referee?
Whenever I get into a discussion about the best hires, I boast about hiring Doyle.
Hope you and Valarie have great adventures ahead. It’s great.
-Rich Burgoyne, Director of Claims (Retired)
Oh how I will miss Doyle.
I can’t say how grateful I am that I had the opportunity to work with Doyle. He always took pride in his job and made it a point to make our clients feel appreciated, and helped them through a time when their life had usually just been flipped upside down.
Doyle is a wonderful caring individual and Farm Bureau was lucky to have him for the time he was with us. I am sad he is retiring, he has always been my go-to for help with claims questions, and police reports… LOL.
Doyle - I hope you are able to get in lots of golf games and travel around to see all your wonderful grandchildren. If you are ever in the area, swing on into the office and we will share any peanut M & M’s we may have hanging around.
-Jennifer Cook, Agent, Buhl
Thank you for all of your help over the years! Enjoy as much golfing as you possibly can and spend as much time as you can with the grandkids.
I am sure going to miss you Doyle! You and Val deserve the best in retirement. Best wishes!
-Kaila Cook, Casualty FCR, Twin Falls
Doyle Rogers! How will I ever make it through without your happy personality available on the phone line? You have always made a point to make sure I understand exactly what we were doing in any certain claim. You would make the problem a pleasant thing to work on, just because it was you!
I will miss your quick wit. Have fun with all your family and especially your grandkids!
-Christina Degn, Fast Track OCR, Home Office
I worked with Doyle for many years and at many different times within the claims department. He was always such a happy person to deal with and happy while he worked. We normally sat together during most of our yearly claims conferences and had many discussions about work, family, friends, co-workers and life.
Doyle always showed himself to be a trustworthy and loyal friend. Even today, we have made plans to get together with our spouses for dinner to keep our friendship alive. He was one of those guys that made you laugh even when you didn't want to. He always had a great outlook on life and his family was by far his highest priority and he was always proud to talk about them.
Doyle worked hard to keep the people in his claims areas happy and at the same time was always fair with his claims practices. If you knew Doyle, you know that he would follow through with the things that he told you he would do. When I'd come over to help him with his heavy wind claims, or he would come to help me or the rest of the claims department with claims in different areas, he would always show up with a smile and his funny personality and be ready to go to work.
I enjoyed working with Doyle and really getting to know him as a good personal friend. In the world of business, it's not always easy to have good friendships as you realize most of the time that those relationships you have built over many years are mostly business relationships. Doyle would be the exception to that. He has shown to be a very trustworthy co-worker and more importantly, he's shown me what a true friend is really supposed to be.
I was honored to know and work with him for many years and rub shoulders during our working relationship. I'm now excited to continue our personal friendship beyond the workplace.
I'm sure Doyle will be truly missed in the Farm Bureau claims department, and I'd like to wish him good luck in everything that he decides to do in his retirement.
-Curt Knapp, Claims Adjuster, American Falls (Retired)
I’ve had the pleasure of working with Doyle for nearly 20 years. He is one of the most dedicated, honest, hard-working people that I know.
I consider Doyle not just a co-worker but a dear friend.
I wish him and Val the best in their new adventures!
-Angie Musser, Material Damage Claims Manager, Home Office
I am so excited for Doyle to be able to move on to the next phase of his life and I hope his retirement is full and fun and excitement.
I will greatly miss him in claims and I have been honored to have worked with him the past 16 years.
I know the customers loved Doyle and will miss him greatly. The shops he worked with all respected his knowledge of cars and his easy mannerism, and his coworkers loved his big smile.
This gentle giant of claims will be missed by everyone.
-Jerry Neil-Andersen, Material Damage FCR, Burley
Doyle, I am happy and/or jealous for you on your retirement!
The time has finally arrived. May you enjoy doing what you want with family, grandkids, golfing and just putting your feet up, but don’t get too relaxed, there’s some chores to do around the house.
I do feel sorry for Val. You know the old saying, “You can have too much of a good thing.” Ha ha. I thank you for all your support through the last few years. Right or wrong we did it.
You will be missed at Farm Bureau, but we can always keep in touch as friends and even have lunch or go golfing once in a while.
Take care, enjoy and have fun my friend, I know you will!
-Jon Wilson, Claims Representative, Burley
