The second annual Elevate Leadership Summit will bring together some of the brightest minds in business to connect, share ideas, and prepare Idaho business professionals to step into leadership roles. From dynamic group discussions to one-on-one interactions with leading experts and visionaries, the Summit provides attendees with an array of sessions and networking opportunities aimed at elevating their leadership skills.
Held at the Stephens Performing Arts Center on the Idaho State University campus, the day-long event is a collaborative effort between the Idaho State University College of Business and Farm Bureau Mutual Insurance Company of Idaho. Over 300 business professionals are expected to attend this year’s event. The summit’s keynote speaker is Ann Latham, founder of Boston-area consulting firm Uncommon Clarity©, Inc. Her clients represent more than 40 industries and range from for-profit organizations such as Boeing, Medtronic, and Hitachi, to nonprofit organizations as diverse as Public Television and Smith College. She is the author of The Clarity Papers – The Executive’s Guide to Clear Thinking and Better, Faster Results plus three other books.
“For me, the [2018] Leadership Summit was both insightful and entertaining,” said Tyler Moore, Membership and Business Systems Administrator at the Idaho Farm Bureau Federation. “The presenters delivered their message in a way that sparked new ideas through personal experiences, case studies, and humor.” Tyler also benefited from networking with other southeast Idaho business professionals. “They provided me with fresh perspectives and best practices they use within their own industries. In turn, I was able to implement many of those best practices within my organization to enable growth through an enhanced level of communication and teamwork.”
Farm Bureau Insurance’s Director of Accounting, Brandon Peterson, also attended last year’s Summit and reflected on his experience. “The Elevate Leadership conference is a high-quality event, especially for southeast Idaho. The quality of the speakers was great and the location was even better. Great venue, great content, great people. I hope I go again!”
Emily Roseborough, APO Manager and SAFe Program Consultant, echoed Brandon's sentiments. "When they started the Elevate Leadership Summit," Emily said, "it was really special in that Pocatello doesn't have many options for leadership conferences/training. I was excited to attend, and for good reason. I was able to network with other professionals in our area, talk to some of the vendors/companies who were present, and learn a little bit about fresh happenings in Pocatello." Emily was also able to pick up free swag and candy, something she said she "will never turn down." Emily added that the conference is also "extremely low-priced" compared to other conferences. "If you had gone to Boise or Salt Lake City for a conference, it would cost travel plus, I bet, at least $500 for the training registration. I hope the Elevate Leadership Summit continues to thrive in our community. I'm eager to attend again this year."
The 2019 Elevate Leadership Summit will take place on Thursday, May 16, from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM at Pocatello’s Stephens Performing Arts Center. For more information or to register, visit: www.eventbrite.com/e/elevate-leadership-summit-2019-registration-52059427148
