Everyone wants their website to rank at the top of Google. Google is the world's most popular search engine and when you're at the top, people searching for insurance or a local insurance agent will find your site first. But, if you're like most insurance agents, you're probably not sure how to make this happen. Luckily, getting started with Google Ads is easier than you might think thanks to assistance available from the Home Office Sales department. Before we get into the steps for beginning a Google Ads campaign though, let's get an idea about how Google Ads work.

HOW GOOGLE ADS WORK

With Google Ads, you create Google ads using a particular set of keywords. These keywords are what you believe someone will type into Google in order to search for your product. An example would be "insurance agent sandpoint idaho". Google gives you an estimate of what you will pay when someone clicks your ad. This is called cost per click (CPC). The cost all depends on the keywords and level of demand for the keyword. Unfortunately, insurance-related keywords are the most expensive on Google. But that doesn't mean you can't make Google Ads work for you at an affordable price. Ashley Pope, Agent Marketing Lead in the Sales department, can help you select keywords to drive prospects to your ad at an affordable CPC.

GETTING STARTED WITH GOOGLE ADS

The first step is to request a "Google My Business" page (which gives prospects an easy way to connect with you, especially if they do a mobile search) from Ashley. Ashley will make the page for you. Next, Ashley will work with you to build your Google Ads ad. You can make your own Google Ads ads if you want, but make sure to run them past the Sales department (who will also run them past the Legal department) for approval. Finally, give Ashley an idea of your budget. She'll work with you on keyword planning to stay within your budget while reaching your marketing goals. Again, you could try to select your own keywords, but Ashley has more capabilities with her full version of Google Ads (as opposed to the popular Google Ads Express tool which most agents would use).

AN AGENT'S GOOGLE ADS SUCCESS STORY

John Nishimoto in Dalton Gardens is one agent who has been working with Ashley on Google Ads campaigns. John says, "I have been receiving one or two two calls per day, including a few on weekends. About half of them are looking for a quote. I am closing about 60% of the ones I actually speak to. So far this has been the best return on my time and money besides asking for referrals from existing clients. I've closed three new clients in the last three-and-a-half days, and today is not over yet." How much is John spending on Google Ads ? About $10 per day. "Even if you only have $200 a month to spend on Google Ads," John says, "Ashley can make it work for you. Of course, you get back what you put into it."

If you're ready to give Google Ads a try, contact Ashley at extension 4396 or apope@idfbins.com. Google Ads are not a free marketing option, but they can be effective at getting your agency to the top of Google search results and catching the eye of customers shopping online.
