Jerry Neil-Andersen, Material Damage FCR in Burley, will retire on June 24 after over 26 years of dedicated service.
Jerry Neil-Andersen was born and raised in Pocatello and graduated from Highland High School. She earned an associate’s degree in teaching from Brigham Young University, followed by a teaching degree from Idaho State University.
Before coming to Farm Bureau, Jerry ran the City of Rupert’s swimming pool for twelve years, then taught Rupert fifth-graders for two years.
She began her career as an Idaho Farm Bureau Insurance claims representative in September 1995.
Highlights of her career, Jerry says, have been the people she’s worked with and the process of customer service. “It’s always rewarding to help customers through the claims process, especially when someone has lost a loved one or suffered a large loss like a fire. It can be hard too, but it’s always nice just to be able to sit down with them and help.”
Jerry and her husband live on a farm in the Rupert / Burley area. They have nine children, all of them married now, and 22.5 (number 23 will arrive soon) grandkids.
Outside of work, Jerry enjoys waterskiing, wakeboarding, snow skiing, scuba diving (she’s dove in Hawaii, Saipan, Guam, and Honduras), and bike riding. “We also do a ton of four-wheeling and camping,” she adds.
Jerry’s retirement will officially kick off when her husband retires in January. “We’ll spend three to four months in Guam. Then we have plans to go to Costa Rica. Of course we’ll see the grandkids. And we’ll do more travelling and camping. We go to California every year to bodysurf. I love the water and plan to spend a lot of time in the water. We just bought some jet skis so we jet ski now. If I’m not waterskiing, which is my first love, then we runaround on jet skis. I don’t know what else we’re going to do. We just like to do a lot of stuff.”

Jerry - I am really happy that you are getting to retire and enjoy life. Travel safe, enjoy the grandkids and – most of all – have fun.
I’m glad I had the opportunity to work with you. I was grateful to learn your expertise from your experiences and knowledge.
Just remember about work: “It’s not your problem anymore.” You’re retired.

Jerry is such an amazing and honest-working adjuster. Her knowledge and expertise helped me on my journey to understand the claims side of insurance.
The first time I met her in person was when Teresa introduced me to adjusters and agents. Jerry was so excited to see Teresa and immediately her friendliness made me feel better about working with this new group of people. She is a great adjuster and very personable.
I will miss her, but wish her fun adventures for the future! Safe travels my friend!
