Moscow CSR Karen Barbour will retire on June 24 after 15 years of dedicated service.

By Karen Barbour

I began working at Farm Bureau in April of 2007.

I have always been a CSR and have enjoyed helping people in this role.

Before Farm Bureau, I worked for the Good Samaritan Society as a cook and then as the Director Of Dietary Service for over 24 years.

I was born and raised in Rochester, New York, and moved to Idaho in 1977.

I studied Food Service and Nutrition at Lewis-Clark State College in 1980.

My 95-year-old mom and I are moving to Texas to be near my brother and his wife who retired there from an Air Force career.

I will not miss winter weather. I enjoy gardening, walking, and bike riding.

COMMENTS FROM KAREN'S COWORKERS

Karen was here when I started as an agent over 11 years ago. I was in “over my head” and there is no way I would have made it without her being there for me and “talking me off the ledge” daily!

I love you Karen and will miss you dearly, both personally and professionally.

God bless you.

-Ryan Beckner, Agent, Moscow

It has been my pleasure to work with Karen for the last six years.

Karen has always been so very helpful and she will be missed.

Her customers will miss hearing her friendly voice when she answers the phone.

Happy retirement Karen, and have fun living in Texas!

-Barbara McClure, CX Specialist, Dalton Gardens

During my tenure as Agency Manager in Northern Idaho, Karen was one of the best CSRs I had the pleasure to work with. Karen always had a smile and a kind word every time I’d stop in the Moscow Office. I will always remember joking with her, discussing the finer points of the Christmas Vacation movie!

I’m confident in saying that all who had the pleasure of working with Karen will surely miss her.

Karen - have a fantastic retirement! Do all of the things you’ve always wanted to do!
