After 15 years of dedicated service, Middleton CSR Lori Darbin will retire on July 28.
By Lori Darbin
I was hired at Farm Bureau July 2008 by Don Pfost. I couldn’t have asked for a better boss to work for. I worked in the Caldwell office for 11 years. I had some amazing times there and made some lifelong friends.
I made a decision to come to work in the Middleton office with Darin Pfost, Jason Gardner and Cody Chavers in 2019, where I have had such a wonderful experience working with an amazing team of people.
I have really enjoyed working with people in the Caldwell and Middleton offices as well as the home office. I have also met so many great customers along the way that I will truly miss. I have nothing but good memories working for Farm Bureau Insurance. I will always treasure the 15 years that I have worked for them.
I was born and raised in Caldwell Idaho, where I graduated from Caldwell High School in 1983. I married my childhood sweetheart in June of 1985 and we have been married for 38 years. We have three grown children – two boys and one girl – and two awesome grandchildren!
I had an opportunity to be a stay at home mom for several years when my kids were little. I ended up going to school in Texas to learn how to run a Christian school. I worked at this for nine years and experienced many wonderful blessings.
Our school ended up closing in 2008, due to finances. I heard through a friend that Farm Bureau was hiring. I met with Don Pfost and the rest is history!
My plans after retiring are spending more time with my already retired husband. Spending time with my grandkids of course! And more time with my mom. I would like to camp and fish and go four wheeling, and maybe travel to a place I haven’t seen. I would love to go to The Holy Lands. I love to write, I would like to pick that back up again. Have one more cup of coffee without having to rush out the door, and enjoy nature and family and friends.
More than anything, I want to slow down and enjoy this life God has given me.
Please join us in thanking Lori for her dedicated service and congratulating her on her well-deserved retirement. An open house for Lori will be held on Wednesday, July 26, from 1:30 to 3:30 at the Middleton office.
NOTES FROM LORI'S COWORKERS
Lori Darbin. What can I say? She is probably one of the most generous and loving people I have ever known. I know Lori personally and professionally. And her personality doesn’t change. She is always a bright spot in the day.
Lori started out in the Caldwell office until she moved to Middleton. It was a sad time because I felt like I was losing a good friend.
I get to speak with her periodically in Middleton and I see her outside of work as well.
I know from her time here at our office that the insureds loved seeing her. She was/is always so cheerful and willing to help them with whatever they were/are needing.
Farm Bureau is loosing a very valuable employee.
Lori - enjoy your retirement, your time with Duane and your kiddos, as well as those precious grand kiddos. I see lots of hunting and fishing in your future.
I love you, my friend!
-Denise Chynoweth, PA, Caldwell
You have been a pleasure to work with over the years.
As you embark on this new chapter of life, I have no doubt that you will find joy and fulfillment in what is next for you.
As you have worked at Farm Bureau for many years, it is time for you to relax and focus on you and your wonderful family.
Congratulations once again on your retirement.
It has been a joy working with you.
-Jenny Lott, CX Field Specialist, Kuna
Lori is very customer service oriented. Always greeted customers with a smile and did her best to take care of them. Often taking care of multiple calls and still greeting customers with a smile when they walked in the door.
Lori, it was a pleasure to be your supervisor.
Best wishes to you on retirement!
-Janeth Ortiz, Sales Administrative Specialist, Boise
Lori has been a pleasure to work with the past few years!
She has a bubbly personality and does not know a stranger!
Lori is going to be greatly missed by her coworkers as well as our customers.
I wish her and Duane nothing but the best in the next chapter in their lives.
Thank you for everything Lori!
God Bless.
-Darin Pfost, Agent, Middleton
We are so very blessed to have worked with Lori for these past years. She has been a light in our office, and I can’t thank her enough for all the laughs I have gotten to share with her. She is mama bear to all, and we are so sad to see her go but so excited that she gets to spend so much time with her grandbabies now.
Thank you, Lori, for not only being a great coworker but also a great friend.
We love you so much and I’m so excited for your new adventures!
-Rachel Rush, CSR, Middleton
I would like to say that Lori is one of the kindest, most caring and big-hearted ladies that I have ever known.
If Lori ever had a bad day you’d never know it because she always shows happiness towards everyone and somehow always manages to make a person smile.
She is always willing to help in any way possible and one of her love languages is sharing.
A person will never go hungry when Lori is around because she will always share her food/snacks and she would go without to make sure you’re taken care of.
Lori has never been just a co-worker, she has been a friend and a momma bear and I will miss her greatly.
I wish Lori all the best in her next chapter.
