Farm Bureau Mutual Insurance Company of Idaho recently announced its Executive Vice President and Chief Executive Officer, Paul Roberts, will retire from that position effective December 31, 2019.

Roberts informed the Farm Bureau Insurance Board of Directors of his plans to retire in a meeting earlier this week. Roberts was appointed Executive Vice President and CEO on July 1, 2014.

Speaking on behalf of the Farm Bureau Board of Directors, President Bryan Searle said, “I have a great amount of appreciation and respect for Paul Roberts. He has wisely and tirelessly balanced the demands that this company has placed on him for almost three decades. His years of service not only sustain Farm Bureau Mutual Insurance Company of Idaho today, but set a wonderful tone for those who continue to move this company forward.”

Roberts’ tenure has been marked by significant growth in the size of the company which saw record-setting sales in both 2017 and 2018. In addition, Roberts championed a forward-thinking leadership style with a focus on technological advancement.

Prior to accepting the position of Executive Vice President and CEO, Roberts served as CFO of Farm Bureau’s combined companies for 14 years. Before accepting that role, Roberts had been a key member of the accounting department and advanced to the position of Assistant Treasurer in 1996.

Roberts grew up on a small farm near Lava Hot Springs where he helped his father grow wheat and alfalfa and raise cattle on about 100 acres. After graduating from Marsh Valley High School, Roberts attended Idaho State University where his focus was on business and accounting.
