Each year, Farm Bureau recognizes employees who have reached service award milestones of 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, and 40 years. That’s right, we have employees who have been with us for over 40 years; three reached this milestone in the last two months alone. It’s remarkable, and it says a lot about our organization.

The longevity of our agents and employees is unmatched compared to other companies in the region. Nationwide, employees stay an average of 4.5 years at a job. The 62 agents and employees celebrating a July work anniversary at Farm Bureau have a combined total of 608 years of service, or an average of 9.8 years - more than double the national average. We are truly fortunate to have the knowledge, skills, and experience of our dedicated employees and agents.

And, as you may have noticed with all the recent changes in employee programs including a casual summer dress code, paid volunteer time, a new telecommuting policy, flexible work schedules, and an employee insurance discount, Farm Bureau is committed to retaining great employees.

“Our goal is to be the employer of choice in Pocatello and the state of Idaho, a best place to work,” says Todd Argall, Executive Vice President and CEO, regarding the changes. “We also needed more flexibility in our work environment to accommodate our employees, and to safely manage through external problems like the ones introduced by COVID-19.”

A recently completed employee survey, combined with the impact of COVID-19, created a sense of urgency in the company to enhance employee programs. “The feedback that we have received from our team members has been overwhelmingly positive,” Todd adds. “We will continue to look for opportunities to improve our benefits and our work environment. Our dedicated employees do a great job for our customers and deserve competitive benefits and a flexible work environment.”
