American Falls native Vicki was self-employed in the autobody repair business before coming to work at Farm Bureau Insurance in 2003. Since then, she's been a commercial proofreader, a coder, business analyst, and computer operator.

 

The highlight of her Farm Bureau career, Vicki says, has been the people she worked with. "When I started here," she remembers, "I was welcomed with open arms. So, I will never forget that. I loved every position I had."

Vicki is also thankful she was hired by Susan Pence. "She was the best. I was so grateful to her for giving me a chance here at Farm Bureau."

​

Vicki and her husband have been married for 31 years and have "two wonderful sons and five grandchildren."

​

Their retirement plans include camping, travelling, grandchildren, more fifth wheel trips, more RZR rides, and catching up on projects.

​

"Hopefully," Vicki adds, "I can also get my husband to take me back to Hawaii."

I remember the day I was told Vicki Carney would be our new daytime mainframe Computer Operator. I was acquainted with Vicki casually when she worked in Commercial Processing. I was so happy to hear the news that I would be working with her because we already got along wonderfully. Throughout the years of our friendship we have laughed together and we have cried together. We’ve experienced the birth of grandchildren together and many other happy occasions as well as sorrowful times.

   

Vicki’s is an indefatigable worker. Grass does not grow under her feet when it comes to her job. Her attention to detail and accuracy made all of our jobs in Operations easier. Vicki’s dependability is unmatched. Vicki starts work when the rest of us MAY be getting out of bed and we always know that she will be there because that is how dependable Vicki is. Starting her job at 6am consistently for years without ever inconveniencing anyone with a 5am call that she won’t be coming in. I’m pretty sure that I can count on one hand when Vicki was out sick. Vicki is a joy to be around every day always displaying that beautiful smile, approaching each day with optimism. Vicki is kind and oh, so generous. If you are a homeless person standing on the corner, Vicki will always stop and provide money for a meal. Vicki donates to all causes that will help people. Vicki’s dedication to her family is immeasurable and her integrity is unquestionable.

We have a friendship that I treasure and I though I will miss her here at Farm Bureau, I look forward to taking the camping trips we have talked about for years because it finally won’t matter if we are on vacation at the same time. I look forward to the future memories we create.
