Claims Representative Vicki Kinter will retire on April 28, 2023, after over 25 years of service. A potluck lunch for Vicki will be held on Friday, April 28, at noon in the Boise Service Center. Please see below for additional details.
When did you begin working at Farm Bureau?
I began working at Farm Bureau in December 1997.
Tell us a little about your life / career before Farm Bureau.
I worked at Continental Life & Accident Company for about 20 years before it closed. I also worked at Idaho Timber Corporation for several years before coming to work at Farm Bureau.
I was born in Ontario, Oregon, and raised in Vale, Oregon. I went to Link's School of Business in Boise after graduating from high school.
What were some highlights about working for Farm Bureau?
Going to claims conferences and meeting the other people who work for claims in other areas of the state.
Tell us a little bit about your family.
It is just my husband, Dave, and I.
What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
When not working I like to read, sew, and shop.
What are your retirement plans?
After I retire, I will have more time to sew, do other crafts, walk in the park more, and take photographs. I will probably take some classes to learn new crafts and improve my skill on current ones.
Please join us in thanking Vicki for her dedicated service and congratulating her on her well-deserved retirement. A potluck lunch for Vicki will be held on Friday, April 28, at noon in the Boise Service Center. NOTES FROM VICKI'S COWORKERS
Vicki Kinter is a wealth of knowledge. Farm Bureau is loosing a great asset as she retires.
Vicki is amazing with helping customers and coworkers understand how the processes work.
She is meticulous in her work ethic and kind in her explanations.
I, personally, will miss her immensely.
Happy retirement to you Vicki! Remember you are missed!
-Christina Degn, Fast Track OCR
The first words that comes to mind when I think about Vicki are "sweet" and "dependable."
She has been a staple for the Claims Department for years and will be greatly missed. The Boise Service Center is not going to be the same without her.
I’d be remiss if I didn’t also mention that she is a diehard Oregon Ducks fan. When you talk football with her, you can see her passion for the game and her team.
Even though she will be missed, she has more than earned this retirement with her years of hard work and dedication to her teammates, and the company.
We love you Vicki! Enjoy your retirement! Go Ducks!
-Teresa Durrant, Director of Claims, Boise Service Center
Vicki has been an amazing employee for the claims department at Farm Bureau. She gets things done and is a no-nonsense person and a hard worker.
When I was hired at Farm Bureau, I was able to go over and train with Vicki and the other examiners at the time. Vicki taught me a lot about that position and how to do it properly.
She is always someone you can rely on to get a task done and have it done correctly.
She is an integral part of our department, and we have all benefited from her work ethic and can learn from her example.
-Natalie Lemmon, Casualty FCR II
Vicki has been a fixture in the Boise claims office for so long, it is difficult to imagine her not being there.
While there may have been times that the detail and perfection in which Vicki performed her job was somewhat inconvenient for claims folks, adjusters could count on her to make certain that everything they did was done right. Vicki could remember every rule that we have ever had and she took each one very seriously. Over time, we all came to appreciate her detail and when she no longer checked our work, it took some getting used to.
I always looked forward to hearing Vicki’s adventures when she would take time off or spent time with her friends and family as well as sharing my family adventures with her. And it has always been fun to hear her laugh across the room.
I will miss Vicki very much. It will be very difficult to replace her knowledge of the way things work in the Company and where to get things not to mention her friendship.
Good luck and happiness in your next adventure.
-Trevor Makinson, Claims Supervisor, Boise Service Center
Vicki has been a staple at the Boise office for a long time now.
The wheels on the Farm Bureau Bus have run smoothly with Vicki’s attentive work and care.
She’s an ultimate Team Player being open to doing whatever was required of her position to help Farm Bureau succeed.
Checks always went out appropriately with her watchful eye all the while dealing with adjusters flack for, correctly, rejecting their checks.
Her fun personality was infectious in the office and was even more lively during Oregon Ducks football season.
I wish Vicki and her husband all the best in retirement. May it be filled with lots of new adventures.
She has earned this time to relax and enjoy the fruits of her labor.
-James Mower, Casualty Claims Manager, Boise Service Center
I’ve had the privilege of working with Vicki for a very very long time!
She is very thorough in her work and dedicated to Farm Bureau.
I can remember as a new adjuster whenever I would see her name show up on my telephone I would cringe just a bit... I knew I had made a mistake and she caught it!
I’ve recently moved to the Boise area and have had the opportunity to get to know her better. She is always willing to do what needs done for our customers and doesn’t complain about it... if that means staying late to put on a claim or answer the phone she will get it done!
I wish Vicki and her husband the best retirement.
This office will not be the same without her here!
-Angie Musser, Material Damage Claims Manager, Boise Service Center
I have had the privilege of working with Vicki since she was hired 25 years ago.
Vicki has always been our “go to” for making sure that things are done right.
She has always taken her job very seriously and has challenged even the most seasoned adjusters on the completeness of their documentation and accuracy.
Despite this, Vicki always loves hearing updates on our pets and families and takes the time to check in each day.
Vicki is a big part of the reason why I have always loved the people at Farm Bureau, and she will genuinely be missed.
-Paul Schiffman, Litigation Claims Manager, Boise Service Center
Working with Vicki has been a great experience.
Vicki is always willing to help out and is very dedicated and dependable.
I count myself as very lucky for getting to work directly with her for many years now.
I will definitely miss seeing her every day. It won’t be the same without her.
